Your Active Team!

We believe passionately in empowering people to live active and healthy lives. In the United Kingdom, physical inactivity is the fourth greatest cause of ill health with negative impacts on health, social and economic outcomes for individuals and communities. It is responsible for 1 in 6 UK deaths, which is equivalent to smoking. Importantly, up to 40% of long-term conditions could be prevented if everyone met the UK Chief Medical Officer’s physical activity recommendations.

The biggest challenge facing healthcare systems around the world is the rise in the number of people with one or more long term conditions. One of the most important behavioural risk factors for several long term conditions – both in terms of primary prevention and slowing or reversing disease progression is physical activity.

Our team have designed this course to not only transform your conversations with patients around this most important determinant of their current and future physical and mental health, but to also help you develop transferable health coaching skills for conversations about other behaviours like smoking and dietary change.
